Words from your ACMSA Sponsor Chair
On a monthly basis and maybe more often, ACMSA will showcase our valued Sponsors. Without our Sponsors, recent prizes and paybacks would not be possible. Please learn about our Sponsors and what they bring to our membership by checking out the ACMSA sponsor page www.acmsa.com. We want our Sponsors to benefit from their commitment to ACMSA. Please frequent their services, products and merchandise when possible and be sure to thank them as well!
ACMSA TITLE Sponsor: Bargain Barn Tack
Cheryl and Chico are doing so much for our sport. As Title Sponsor, Bargain Barn Tack contributed $1000 to Southwest Regional Eliminator Class winners. To date, Bargain Barn has conducted 8 new shooter clinics with over 45 new shooters learning the basics of our sport from Dan Byrd www.danbyrdhorses.com. Last week, Bargain Barn Tack held their 4th mounted shooting exposition. At least 100 spectators enjoyed watching all levels run 3 diverse patterns.
Bargain barn in conjunction with Circle Y of Yoakum, donated a Kenda Lenseigne Circle Y Saddle to the Ben Avery Mounted Shooting Development Fundraiser raffle. Tickets are only $20.00 and sold at Bargain Barn Tack. For $20.00 you have 5 chances to win either a Kenda Lenseigne saddle; a pair of stainless steel single action 45 colt guns from Cimarron Firearms along with a holster from El Paso Saddlery; a JW Brooks Custom Hat; and a pair of Earthwalker custom made boots www.EarthWalkers.biz. Check out the raffle at www.bamsd.com.
Bargain Barn has dedicated an entire section to Cowboy Mounted Shooting including Buffalo Blanks and Circle E Ammo. To find Bargain Barn Tack, get yourself to 35th Avenue and Baseline Rd. Travel West to 39th Avenue where there is a stoplight. Turn right (heading North), and you run right into Bargain Barn. You can also visit their new website at www.bargainbarntack.com. Let Cheryl and Chico know you are an ACMSA Mounted Shooter when you stop by. Be sure to thank them for their sponsorship and generous support of our sport!
Ben Avery Expo Shoot
The 2010 Expo shoot had unbelievable turn out with over 120,000 spectators and 100 shooters. Did you know ACMSA donates the Expo proceeds to the Ben Avery Mounted Shooting Development? Hopefully soon we will have a cover on The Royce Anderson Family Arena to shoot year around!!
Our sponsors donated gifts and prizes to 2010 Expo making it a huge success. All registered shooters received a big bucket loaded with goodies and sponsor products/brochures. Gary Bennett with Full Spectrum Horse Training www.Fullspectrumhorsetraining.com donated the buckets. Cave Creek Cowboy Company donated 6 Wrangler Gift Certificates, Wrangler 2010 Calendars and 70 Cruel Girl and Cinch T-Shirts. We had a T-Shirt toss with plenty left for future T-Shirt Tosses at upcoming shoots!
Steffon with EarthWalker Custom footwear www.EarthWalkers.biz donated a beautiful hand crafted ladies purse plus 2 pairs of custom made spur straps for the Ben Avery Auction. I nabbed the spur straps with the “buy it now option”. Ken and Lucinda Amorosano with Western Shooting Horse Magazine www.westernshootinghorse.com donated a Men’s custom holster set and belt plus subscriptions to Western Shooting Horse Magazine for our top ten winners! Jana Morris with JM PhotoArt www.jmphotoart.com hand crafted the certificates for each class winner. The Ben Avery Fund Raisers www.bamsd.com donated bricks to the overall champions Wes Walton and Paula Bausch. Diana Olson with Omega Appaloosa handcrafted the silver bullets for you sharpshooters!
Dan Byrd www.danbyrdhorses.com donated a lesson to the Ben Avery Auction and it sold for over $400! Tony Romano with Circle Star Ranch donated a lesson and it went for a hefty price too! Other Auction items donated by our sponsors included a free horse shoeing from T.J. Romano’s Farrier Service, a pair of custom made spurs by Reeds Blacksmith Shop www.westernblacksmith.com, a backstrap engraving from www.thegunengraver.com and a fabulous custom action job donated by Grant McMaster with Competition Gun Works.
We had several sponsors who showcased their product at Expo including Darren West with D&C Bullets www.DCbullets.com; Dave Bishop with Bishops Trailers www.bishopstrailersale.com who by the way is a HART Dealer and the Official Trailer sponsor of CMSA! Thom Read with Sundancer Equine Supply www.Totalequine.info had a booth with yummy samples of Total Equine. Thom donated his time and personally hung up all the banners and took them down for me! Thank you Thom! Ken Senft with Guns Plus, www.gunsplusaz.com had a booth complete with guns and holsters.
Thanks to Niles Radio www.nilesradio.com and Kathleen Callander who donated 6 very nice Walkie Talkie Radios to the ACMSA Board. Now we can actually talk to one another during a shoot from the gate all the way to the announcer stand. We hope you see efficiencies gained from Kathleen’s generous contribution!
Special thanks go to Dawn Morris, Kevin Boterman and Tony Romano who are on the ACMSA Sponsor team! They helped pull together an outstanding Sponsor Showcase at the 2010 Expo!
I hope you have enjoyed our first ACMSA Sponsor blog. Hopefully, I did not forget anyone and if I did, please accept my apology in advance.
If you have questions or comments, please call me or send me a note. We value your feedback and we thank our 2010 Sponsors!
